2011年10月30日 · I guess what I am confused about is what the PMD actually controls. Fault code P1216 is "Fuel Solenoid response time too short" and according to the Service manual, its either a faulty IP, faulty PCM or short/open in the wiring. I am happy to swap PMDs, but will it actually solve the problem? which part is the Fuel Solenoid and where is it located?

2012年12月23日 · Just picked up a 98 Suburban. At cold it runs extremely rough, throws smoke and has no power. I cant get it over 2000 RPMs. Once it warms up it gets better, but still feels like it has a loss of power. If I really get on it, when I get into the higher RPMs it will actually feel like its misfiring. I'm getting intermittent P1216 and P1217 codes.

Solenoid is part of the IP, there is only one IP made by Stanadyne. The challenge is that a lot of bad rebuilt out there so you need to find a reputable vendor.

2006年4月7日 · Now it restarts only when I depress the accelerator enough, and it seems to only have enough power to go 40mph on level road, slower going up grade. It doesn't have much power at all. No excessive smoke. The trouble codes are P0251 Injection Pump Cam System, and P1216 Fuel Solenoid Response Time Short.
