If the housing wasn't synced correctly, then it will cause the P1391 code to set, so you have to be sure. Along with a manual setup during installation, it also requires a scan tool to do, so a shop would have to do this unless you have access to a scan tool. Hope that helps.

Customer: P1391 manufacturers code. Loss of CMP or CKP. Crankshaft sensor and Cam position sensor. From what I have been researching online it seems that if it is the crank sensor the car probably will not start at all. This one will start quickly and easily but it will idle roughly then die, but it will crank right back up.

Code P1391 indicates there is a problem with the correlation of the camshaft position sensor to the crankshaft position sensor. This is quite misleading considering that the scantool generally reads out a fault description of a camshaft position sensor fault.
