Jul 6, 2010 · I have the P2004/P2017 Engine codes showing up then going away. Intake Manifold Rudder Stuck Open, Sensor On HIGH. Being this code comes and goes I'm assuming that its dirty/build-up/etc. I have taken the flow valve off and have tried to physically turn the rudder shaft. I can barely turn it either way.

Jun 5, 2023 · I decided to try and fix the P2004 code my Patriot was throwing since my inspection is up next month and in the process when finished the car is now throwing a P2017 code instead. Process: Attempted to fix the P2004 Bank 1 Intake Manifold Runner Control (IMRC) is stuck in the open position by replacing the IMRC with an OEM part from Mopar.

Jun 28, 2012 · P2004 I think is when the flaps won't move, P2017 is probably if the motor/sensor shorts to ground. I've been using Lucas fuel injector cleaner for years without issues so I doubt it is what caused any codes.

Nov 2, 2018 · At one point I accelerated with the flow of traffic from a near crawl. The Patriot shuddered a bit and then the Check engine light came on. I drove the rest of the way home and put a code scanner on it. Sure enough it was P2004 and P2017 codes. So the intake runner control valve or the butterflies in the manifold were stuck.

May 9, 2013 · My 2008 Jeep patriot check engine light comes on and off often, no code would come up, and finally a code came up when I took it to Auto Zone, it stated P2017, Fuel rail pressure malfunction. Being a girl, I am totally clueless. In reading posts, some thing fuel injector cleaner may help? I do have 175K on it,, all business miles
