2014年2月16日 · When I let the engine sit off the lights all go away until abnout 15mins of driving. I pulled the code with the key in the ignition dance and with a code reader and both came back with P2181. I opened rad cap and watched the water pump start to cycle the fluid. I have burped the rad of all air as well as topped it up along with the overflow res.

2011年7月29日 · The engine hesitated but started and immediately the MIL and ETC light came on. I drove down the road, parked, and restarted the engine a couple times. The ETC light went off but MIL stayed on and the jeep drove a little weird. Next day ran the built in diagnostics and came up with code P2181 (cooling system performance).

2013年12月15日 · Looks like a really cheap coolant temperature sensor was installed on these jeeps that is known to go up. Jeep has actually even replaced the whole sensor with a much better built sensor. Dealer cost is 22-30$. Anyway this is located directly on engine block slightly behind and below thermastat housing.

2022年12月14日 · I drive a 2011 jku with a stock 3.8l engine. About 2 weeks ago i got a check engine light with p2181 and p018. I managed to clear the codes and the light by replacing the ect sensor. Now i have another engine light and after getting a diagnostic done (the key dance didmt show a code on the dash) p2181 is back.

2020年1月6日 · Found plugged trans cooler causing the fan to run on high and over cooled the engine coolant. NOW I have codes P0218 and P2181 the engine temp goes down a little at idle but the fan cycles like normal. Smell of trans fluid after driving. its full but has a burnt smell (not the worst ive smelt). Drives like normal no shifting issues.
