In 1975, Switzerland became the first nation to officially adopt the P220 as the "Pistole 75" (P75) chambered in 9 mm Parabellum. Other nations to adopt it for military use include Japan (general issue) and Denmark (which has the earlier P210 in general issue) only to special forces.

2016年2月6日 · Sig Deutschland produced the P220 in 9mm and 9x21 for many years as an option. I recently acquired a P220 Stainless X5 in 9mm to go with some vintage P220s in the collection. Test target confirms it was factory original. Side note: the P220 was also produced in 9mm Steyr (entire pistol and conversion kit) in limited quantities.
