2018年2月17日 · The other day I got a CEL and I scanned it to reveal P2711 - Unexpected/Implausible gear engagement. No other codes and the CEL self-cleared 2 days later. The 2009 TDI's apparently get a warranty extension that includes the mechatronic unit and the transmission itself after receiving the fix.

2010年5月27日 · I think if anyone has ONLY code P2711 along with the clutches "clacking" after shifting out of Drive into P or N they should suspect bad clutches first. This is also VW's recommended fix. I suspect that a LOT of mechatronics units have been needlessly replaced.

2014年10月8日 · Finally I was able to dive into this problem. After removing the DSG and replacing the clutch pack assembly that I purchased from VW. While apart I checked the DMF I was surprised at the amount of wear it had after being replaced 60k miles ago. So I ordered a new DMF from LUK and installed that as well.
