pcb - Chip vs printed circuit board - Electrical Engineering Stack …
2016年4月11日 · A die is the same as a chip or integrated circuit. A chip is then placed in a housing, a small black box with metal pins. A PCB or Printed Card Board by itself has nothing to do with chips. There were PCBs already before chips existed. A PCB is a fiberglass plate with copper traces to connect all the components together.
What kind of components are black blobs on a PCB?
2011年1月17日 · It's called chip-on-board. The die is glued to the PCB and wires are bonded from it to pads. The Pulsonix PCB software I use has it as an optional extra. The main benefit is reduced cost, since you don't have to pay for a package.
pcb - What is this chip? Is it re-programmable? - Electrical ...
2023年5月10日 · It is basically a silicon die glued directly to the PCB. The black blob is there for protection of the silicon and bond wires that connects it directly to the PCB. It is a cheap technique to add a chip to a mass production device, because it does not require all the soldering and casing needed for "regular" chips.

pcb design - What do the PCB markings mean? - Electrical …
2012年1月19日 · In addition to that, you will also find other markings on the PCB. These are done by the fab house and are used to show UL certification numbers, UL standards that the PCB conforms to, sometimes showing RoHS compliance, and sometimes even a logo of the fab house. These can be done in silkscreening process, or anti-soldermask processes.
Safe temperature for desoldering SMD components w/ hot-air …
2012年2月4日 · preheat your pcb to 150c. Use Chipquick alloy or Zephertronics Lo melt. Apply flux, lomelt let sit for about 4 mins then lift the chip off the pcb. Use flux and a swab to gather and remove the leftover lomelt
RF trace at 4 layer PCB with over-the-metal chip antenna
2025年1月8日 · The chip antenna will only use the two outer ground layers to radiate (primarily the top RF layer). Inner layers have virtually no effect. You don’t have to. I would emphasize preserving the PCB thickness more than anything to maximize the antenna radiation performance. In summary the layout including the antenna implementation looks good.
pcb - Tips for identifying an unknown chip? - Electrical …
2011年1月14日 · X-ray won't tell you much. Dimensions of the chip and where the bonds are attached. Decap is probably necessary. You should be able to get the manufacturer from text on the die, which will be a big clue. If you are really lucky, the manufacturer will put something on the die to help you ID the part number.
rf - PCB chip antenna feed design and measurements - Electrical ...
2024年9月15日 · I am designing a PCB that includes a chip antenna first time. There is a feed trace that goes from the RF transmitter to the chip. this trace have to have a 50 Ω trace impedance. Should there be a reference GND under the feed trace? Is it good to have a completely gnd plane for the layers below the reference plane?
PCB chip/trace antenna located away from board edge?
2015年7月16日 · In your case radiating in the plane parallel to the PCB should be avoided as the groundplanes/other components will reflect the radiation and this you want to avoid. But you do still have 2 sides available ! Up and down ! There are antennas that radiate straight up and down, one example is the patch antenna. However, you have to consider if the ...
