I wish the PCM2704 USB stick did not get so loud so quickly, as I was hoping it would be good for IEMs, but it gets loud fast like the HRT microStreamer, Schiit Fulla 2 and others I've tried.

In AndyEF's old reviews database it seems the ALC5686 VE Avani was listed in the same ratings bracket as the CX31993 JCally JM6, but this doesn't necessarily clarify a lot without access to the review text, as Andy is a big fan of lower-fidelity warmer sound.
