Fahud is a permanent oil camp and oil field in the middle of the central plain area of Oman, [1] named after the nearby Jebel Fahud believed to mean "Leopard Mountain" from the time when wild leopards roamed the area. The main oil camp is owned by Petroleum Development Oman (PDO), the national oil company.

1999年4月1日 · Most of the oil lies in two giant fields, Fahud and Natih, which hold 145 million m 3 (910 million barrels) and 100 million m 3 (628 million barrels) reserves respectively, of 32° API oil. Both fields were discovered in the early 1960s during exploration which targeted large anticlines with surface expression.
