It really was a fun and easy kit to build after sorting through the minor issues. Unfortunately those issues are just a little too important to ignore and not cost a little on the score. If you are thinking about the kit and have a little experience, I highly recommend it.

The PFR-3 (Portable Field Radio) is a three band self-contained transceiver kit covering 40, 30 and 20 meters. It is self-contained in that the transceiver, antenna tuner, memory keyer and 8 AA batteries are contained in one small case.

This is an impressive radio for at least 3 reasons: The kit costs a whopping total of $240 US. I don’t know where else you could find such a complete radio package (with built-in tuner and paddles) for that price.
