The PLGR-II/HNV-2000 is more advanced than the original Precision Lightweight GPS Receiver PLGR (PSN-11) but not as much as the Defense Advanced GPS Receiver DAGR (PSN-13). It's much more modern than the Small Lightweight GPS Receiver SLGR (PSN-10).

The PLGR II and VPLGR II are improved hardware over the basline PLGRs. The VPLGR was for use in Vehicles and seems to have addressed some of the human factor problems. In addition it's a dual frequency receiver. The PLGR, PLGR-II and VPLGR-II are all currently out of production.
