The PPG Wave is a series of synthesizers built by the German company Palm Products GmbH from 1981 to 1987. Until the early 1980s, the tonal palette of commercial synthesizers was limited to that which could be obtained by combining a few simple waveforms such as sine, sawtooth, pulse. The result was shaped with VCFs and VCAs.

Waldorf PPG Wave 3.V is capable of delivering up to 256 voices of polyphony, depending on the host computer. Each voice offers two Wavetable oscillators with optional sample playback with either 8, 12, or 32 bits of resolution. Samples can easily be loaded by Drag & Drop.

The German made PPG (Palm Products GmbH) Wave 2 series of synthesizers are incredibly great sounding analog/digital hybrid vintage synths. They use digital samples of wavetables and feature analog VCA envelope and VCF (filter) sections for a classic and warm sound.

The Wave was a digital wavetable synth made by PPG in the early-to-mid 1980s, which employed the wave scanning method of synthesis. Painted an inconic shade of blue, the Wave series were one of the first affordable and stage-usable digital synths, and were seen being used by many '80s-era synth players who were looking for new sounds.

As part of the PPG system the Wave could be controlled by other components, or could in turn control components such as the EVU. Both the Waveterm and the PRK could download new wavetables into a Wave keyboard. In addition to sweepable synth waveforms, sampled sounds could also be downloaded.
