2008年3月6日 · I currently have a PPIMV installed in my vplexi bogen chassis, the popular one from Metroamp forums, and it sounds great but i've heard that using a 100k dual pot instead of the 250k will add a bit of gain to things. Has any tried this yet? If so what were your results?

2013年12月7日 · The pots function as variable grid leak resistors gradually biasing the tubes colder as turned down. The "LarMar" variant of it just applies some safety resistors should the pot fail short. Type 3 is a pot that blends the two complimentary signals after the phase inverter and allows them to cancel each other out.

2011年11月15日 · Rich mod would use higher pot value + close-to-bias parallel resistor. This, however, changes the law of the pot to being much closer to linear. I can't see that it would work like that; as I understand it, it may result in a linear taper pot giving more of an audio taper response, and an audio taper being exaggerated further.

Do a search on Youtube for "PEC potentiometer master volume" and you will find the clip by George Metropoulis on his 50 watt clone, it sounds great.

2019年11月17日 · The ppimv reduces the drive voltage to the poweramp section which in turns means lower nfb voltage from the poweramp. You end up in a situation where the preamp is running hard but receiving a very small nfb voltage from the poweramp which affects the amp's sound and feel quite a bit.
