PRC-1099A is a portable HF- transceiver. Its HF output is 20 W over a frequency range of 1.6 to 30 MHz with a channel spacing of 10 Hz. It is part of a modular radio set; together with various supplements and extensions several portable, mobile and base stations can be put together, while the manpack PRC-1099A always is the basic unit.

2016年5月27日 · The PRC-1099 "paramil" set is quite good, if you don't end-up with a hanger-queen. Added advantage, they also ran on 12 vdc and had the first auto-tuner I'd even seen. I'd buy a PRC-319 or 320 in a heart beat, but shipping to the USA costs as much as the radio.

IIRC all 1099A radios I have seen have built-in ALE. belarok@... I was looking at the following listing on ebay and noticed the ALE compatibility sticker on the battery box. This appears to be a PRC-1099 and not a 1099A. Did the 1099 have an option for ALE or this battery box just a carry over from another radio?

Radio is the same size as the PRC25/77 and uses many of the same accessories. Radio requires 12VDC nominal with an acceptable range of 10.5 - 15V.
