Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engine #4464 and another "Brick" whose road number is not recorded. Both are E-44 (C-C) electrics built by General Electric and rated at 4,400 horsepower each.

Here is a photo of Pennsylvania Railroad engine #4464, an I-1SA (2-10-0) "Decapod" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works as an I-1S during May of 1923, rebuilt in Juniata as an I-1SA in September of 1944, and retired in July of 1951 after 28 years of faithful service.

I know the Amtrak 502 was the 4465 which is now restored to PRR paint at Strasburg Also the 501 was the ex PRR 4464. I know for sure from photographs that at least 4 units were painted in full Amtrak paint.

The Bear Complex has the Car Shop and is maybe 10 miles southwest of the WMF. To view the Bear Complex type “Porter DE” into Google Maps and the Complex will be just northwest of the red arrow.

2020年4月20日 · A Q2 was the most powerful locomotive ever tested on the PRR's stationary locomotive testing plant (basically a locomotive Dyno) at over 8000 horsepower. In the end it would probably have been smarter to make a 4-10-4, though.
