Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of (R to L) Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5770 and a passenger "Shark" B-unit whose road number is not recorded. Both were built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works and rated at 2,000 horsepower each. #5770 was constructed in June of 1948 and retired in June of 1964 after just 16 years of revenue service.

All photos show the unit with dual headlights. The most interesting is one dated January 1953 posted on rrpicturearchives.net. This photo shows the unit in the pinstripe PRR scheme. No doubt the unit had dual headlights dating back to its early PRR days. The real mystery is the story behind the duals headlights on this former PRR E8A Unit.

2021年8月25日 · 5770-5771 were delivered with "Mars" headlights which played a figure 8 on the dark horizon. They of course came from Baldwin. 5700-5701 came from EMD with just a wig-wag headlight, no Mars 8.
