2024年1月28日 · The Branchline decorated kits have their frame and underbody details in black, but the color should be Freight Car Color (FCC) to match the prototype. Branchline includes only 7 rung ladders, which matches PRR drawings, but photos clearly show 8 rung ladders as used on other subclasses. Branchline Trains X43 C box car.

2018年12月28日 · Twelve of the kits are Branchline X43B, X43C, and X44 box cars. I opened one kit to preview the instructions and noted two options: These will all be early 1950s era cars with Circle Keystone. So which ladder and roof walk choice are correct? Thanks!

2022年5月31日 · Finished a PRR X43C boxcar that started with a Branchline 40' kit. I first stripped the paint and then assembled it. However I did add new sidesills to match the cars as the PRR rebuilt them plus the ladders were also lowered. I added Kadee #178 couplers and Tangents excellent 50-ton ASF trucks.

With Toms permission, I am reposting these photos of his PRR X56B and X43C boxcars originaly posted on the MFCL. He used several of the products I have available and at the bottom of this page, you will find a word document with information on the decals he has available. 2025年3月20日 · The model was developed by Roco for Atlas using PRR X43c engineering drawings and is highly accurate down to the equipment trust plate. Several modelers insert a wood plug and drill/tap it for 4/40 machine screws to mount scale trucks. Detail can be enhanced by scraping off the cast on grabs and replacing them with formed wire ones.

I believe, but Ben and others may correct me on the door width, that the X43C was a riveted side car with 8 foot doors (Isn't this correct? The X43, 43A and 43B had 7' doors?) and a diagonal panel roof with no "lip" or "overhang" where it meets the top batten strip/side panel. All photos I …
