The X56 classes of cars were built by the PRR at it's Sam Rea Shops in Hollidaysburg in 1964.

1994年10月3日 · PRR 88299-Class X56 PRR cushioned-boxcar at the Conrail Car Shops at Holidaysburg, PA on October 3, 1994. Its amazing the condition of the paint on this class X56 boxcar considering the PRR has been gone since 1968 and it made it all these years without being patched by either PC or Conrail.

Built by the Pennsylvania Railroad a part of class X56 of double-door "Cushion Car" boxcars, CR 213416 has seen better days. Within the original PRR X56 class were X56A, X56B, X56C, and X56D. The X56 had the largest number of cars, around 250.
