I'm still contemplating a pvs-15 or BNVG but for the sake of spending less money AND having the ability to weapon mount as well as helmet mount I'm looking at monoculars as well. Also the PVS-18 looks, at least physically very similar to one half of a PVS-15. Coincidence, or is is a mono version of a bino?

2014年3月30日 · The 18's don't have to have an filmless tube, but if you do find one with a thin filmed you may not know who put it together. The PVS-18 is basically half of a PVS-15. For strictly helmet mounting, I like the mounting interface of the 18.

2018年12月22日 · Right now I have a high spec L3 WP filmless inside 72lp/35SN . It also looks great image that said I’m not sure it looks much different than the same tube did inside a pvs-14 housing first. Overall, I like the 18 the issue is it’s just overpriced compared to a new 14 housing cost wise. That said it’s a great mil-spec housing overall.

2019年10月7日 · basically you buy the pvs15/18 socket from TNVC for like 54 bucks or something then the norotos dual dovetail adapter for like $142 Pull the rear roll pin out on the rhino 2 and slide the bayonet adapter off, put the dovetail in its place, push the roll pin back in. thats it.

2011年5月12日 · The AN/PVS-18 is only (really) used by NSW. They like it because it can be submerged further than a 14. They wrote the requirement for the Crane solicitation for the 18's development. Other SOF units have them, but they are rarely used because outside the water, they do not do anything that a 14 won't.

2019年2月7日 · Consider also a 720nm, 30mm screw in camera filter. It will thread onto a PVS-14 objective lens and act as a sacrificial lens and provide some bright light protection. Cheaper than a LIF and does the same thing. The nice thing about the screw in lens is you can still use a 3x mag with the friction mount with it installed.
