Mar 11, 2012 · Having just rebuild an AN/PVS-2 I can share a few insights. The "red oscillator" you are talking about is only used on the later AN/PVS-2B and Israeli scopes with ABC tubes. It is also known as the ABC adapter and replaces the oscillator (silver tube) under the threaded cap on the front of the power supply/battery compartment.
