Can someone please explain the difference PO2 and PaO2?
2009年4月10日 · I can't understand what is the difference between PO2 and Pa02. I know that PaO2 is the partial pressure of oxygen in blood. PO2 is partial pressure of Oxygen. Are they interchangeable? For example in many textbooks (and websites) I have read, about the oxygen dissocation curve, The x-axis is PO2.
PaO2 vs SaO2 - NCLEX Exam, Programs - allnurses
2008年7月10日 · Although a late response, I'm sure others want to know a few details that make the difference between Pa02 and Sa02 more clear and relevant: Oxygen travels in blood via to mechanisms: 1) Bound to hemoglobin. 2) Dissolved in plasma. SaO2 (and its indirect measurement SpO2) describe the amount of oxygen bound to hemoglobin in arterial blood. …
SpO2 vs. SaO2 - Nursing Student Assistance - allnurses
Pa02 refers to the partial pressure of 02 in arterial blood. It is measured via artial blood sample. A normal range is approximately 75-100 mm Hg. Sa02 refers to oxygen saturation of arterial blood. It is likewise measured by arterial blood sample. A normal value is approximately 95-100%.

2014年10月22日 · Can someone please help me understand how an SpO2 value can be 95 while the PaO2 reads as low as 40 to 60. I know SpO2 is Hgb saturation% and SaO2 is O2 pressur...
Pneumonia and PaCO2 - Nursing Student Assistance - allnurses
2011年1月15日 · My med-surg book and other sources tell me that in pneumonia, initially, ABG values for both PaO2 and PaCO2 will be low, and later in the disease Pa02 will be low and PaO2 will be high. I've usually got a good handle on physiology, but this doesn't make any sense to me, sense O2 and CO2 are almost always inversely related.
Hyper and hypo ventilation with PaCO2 levels
2012年3月19日 · low pco2 levels are a by product due to another source whether it is metabolic acidosis, as in the setting of diabetic ketoacidosis, to help off set the acidosis by hyperventilating to produce bicarbonate (very simply put) to compensate for the acidosis or in the setting someone is hyperventilating from anxiety groping the pco2 levels and ph causing a alkaloid state …
PEEP and blood pressure/other hemodynamics - Critical Care
2016年3月23日 · Hey all, I had a patient who cardiac arrested and they thought he was in ARDS given his Pa02 compared to his FiO2 and we were increasing his PEEP upwards to around 14 until he finally started oxygenating in the 90's (he was in the 80's before on 100% FiO2). I heard the RT discussing that his blood pressure would probably be affected.

2007年5月13日 · ]Pa02 measures partial pressure of oxygen in the blood (plasma & hemoglobin). ]Sa02 measures the percentage of available hemoglobin actually carrying oxygen. ]So, at normal levels, they are usually about the same numbers but one is a pressure and one is a percentage.
Need help with the alveolar air equation - allnurses
2009年3月6日 · - increase alveolar ventilation --> increase PA02 - double alveolar ventilation --> no double in PAO2 in person whose PA)2 is already 104 b/c highest PAO2 one could possibly achieve at sea level. First of all, I can't see how the above #'s go into this equation. Second, I though that if you double ventilation, you can double O2 up to 150...

2011年2月22日 · She probably dropped her sats transiently after her nebs because her nebs were given at a higher Fi02 per RT. Her lungs were "liking" the higher Fi02 and when her nebs were finished, she began breathing room air again. Shortly after the nebs were discontinued her sats dropped due to a gradual decline in her Pa02.
