2009年3月18日 · From a sail rig perspective, the Passport 40 was built to have an inner forestay. Our version doesn't have it, but over 50% of Passport 40's are "cutter" rigged. I put cutter in quotes since the measurements aren't quite spot-on for making it a cutter. Another radical difference in Passport 40's is the forward configuration.

2009年6月30日 · If the choice is between only this V42 and this Passport 40, I'd take the Passport. While the boat might be newer, the Valiant 42 is actually a much older design than the Passport 40. It is really just a Valiant 40, which was introduced in the early-mid-70's. I would call the Passport a much more evolved design.

2007年8月23日 · The Passport and Caliber were priced the same but the Caliber 40 was 10 years newer and very lightly used.. less than 300 hours on the 50 Yanmar. I also like the ventilation - 23 opening ports.., storage, no teak teaks, Pullman berth, Forward Head, w/ encapsulated bow, and quality equipment.

2007年5月19日 · I recently bought a 1984 Passport 40, and there is a problem with the rudder shaft seal and/or bearings. It takes a lot of force on the wheel to move the rudder with the wheel. I took off the steering cables and autohelm hydraulic arm, and found the rudder shaft too tight to move with the emergency tiller.

2021年10月4日 · Be careful, I heard about a Passport 40 recently sold in Virginia to some inexperienced owners, who hired a french captain to deliver the boat down the ICW. The captain promptly ran the mast into a bridge. Not sure if the mast stayed up through that encounter or what happened to boat afterwards.
