2022年12月9日 · The day before Thanksgiving, the congregation of Calvary Chapel Downey, CA, honored Senior Pastor Jeff Johnson and his wife, Karyn, celebrating 50 years of ministry in a transition of leadership service—as he passed the baton to the next generation, Pastor Art Reyes.

Following a lifetime dedicated to serving the Lord, Jeff, the longtime pastor of Calvary Chapel Downey, peacefully entered his Master's presence on February 13, 2024.

In May of 1973, Jeff Johnson became part of what was to become Calvary Chapel of Downey. Its beginning was in the unlikely location of Furman Park. By May of 1978, only five years after his start of a small fellowship, the Lord blessed Jeff with a fantastic facility as big as six football fields.

Jeff Johnson is the senior pastor of Calvary Chapel of Downey, California. He has traveled extensively to many parts of the world lecturing and preaching the Word of God. In addition, his teachings are now being heard daily with the radio program “Sound Doctrine.”
