2012年1月14日 · Om mani padme hum is an ancient mantra that is related to the bodhisattva of compassion, Avalokiteshvara, and with therefore the Dalai Lama, who is considered to be an incarnation of Avalokiteshvara.

The Mani mantra is the six syllable mantra of Avalokiteshvara: oṃ maṇipadme hūṃ (Skt.; Tib. ཨོཾ་མ་ཎི་པདྨེ་ཧཱུྂ༔, om mani pémé hung, Wyl. oM ma Ni pad+me hU~M`:). In the terma tradition, Avalokiteshvara's seed syllable hrīḥ is added to the end of the mantra, making seven syllables.

Om Mani Peme Hum is the most widely used of all Buddhist mantras. It is open to anyone who feels inspired to practice it to develop great love and compassion. This mantra originated in India and it is in Sanskrit. Once, Buddha Shakyamuni was dwelling at the monastery of Anathapindika, in Jeta Grove, with his disciples.
