Peru can be an exciting place for rock and gem collectors. The famous blue and pink opals and pyrites are exciting finds, but you may also find impressive veins of epidote, apatite, leopard stone and serpentinite.

Here at OakRocks we do carry many varieties of rocks and minerals from Peru. We have great Pyrite specimens, And we carry a large selection of eggs, spheres and carvings from Peruvian Pyrite, Aragonite, Angelite, and Inca Jade.

The geology of Peru includes ancient Proterozoic rocks, Paleozoic and Mesozoic volcanic and sedimentary rocks, and numerous basins and the Andes Mountains formed in the Cenozoic. The oldest rocks in Peru date to the Precambrian and are more than two billion years old.

Peru Rocks is a geologically focussed exploration conference which will systematically examine current activity in all the recognized mineralized belts, in the country. Furthermore, we will investigate improvements to the permitting system and analyse current community issues to lead to sustained investment in the sector.

It is about 4 square kilometres (2 sq mi) in area, and sits at an elevation of almost 4,000 metres (13,000 ft) in Huarochirí Province, east of Lima, Peru. Marcahuasi is home to a unique set of huge granite rocks with curious shapes resembling human faces, animals, and religious symbols.
