Across phasmids, larger females laid more and larger eggs (Figures 2A and 2B; Table S2). After accounting for adult female body volume, we found a negative correlation (a trade-off) be-tween lifetime egg number (fecundity) and egg volume (Fig-ure2C). Oviposition modesignificantly affected thesize-number trade-offs.
