Fire Ants can survive temperatures down to 0° F. Phorid Flies are the only natural predator to the fire ant, live only a few days and only lay their eggs in the heads of the fire ant.

2022年9月11日 · Sure enough the phorid flies will arrive at their locations even if you have eaten the plants already, and eating the plants out from under them does not make them go away. So you have to get the immediate plants before the flies arrive (that you can) but you still can't move through them to access plants behind them until you have cleared them.

2023年7月6日 · Phorid flies feed on decomposition, they are common in medical facilities that have a lot of biohazard sitting around. My guess is one of the nearby apartments is a breeding ground and yours is infested by association. If the building manager finds the nasty apartment, the flies will likely go away eventually.

2020年10月30日 · I had to buy 10 indoor bug zappers in my one bed room apartment. Each bug zapper kills 100-150 of them per week. That’s over 1,000-1,300 dead Phorid flies per week total. Lanlord refuses to knock down walls in order to locate the leak within the piping. So I’m stuck but thank god for these bug zappers.

2021年7月18日 · They can live in your AC and travel through air vents bro. I’ve been battling Phorid flies at a apartment I’m at for almost 1 year. They are breeding in the walls and the apartment complex I’m at refuses to do anything about it. The only thing that worked for me is getting 10 indoor bug zappers and leaving them on 24/7.

Bifen and nyguard seem ineffective at knocking down the population. -- Going on 14 months now, since we moved in. This last round had been the worst by far. (Single family 2 story home. It starts like clockwork as soon as the weather gets warm, and ends when it gets cold again. Over the fall / winter / spring, I won't see a single fly for months. In the summer, between a few and dozens every day.
