Force that a car-mounted flag would produce - Physics Forums
2017年8月16日 · Let's say I have a 15-lb flag that is mounted to a car on a welded bracket. I want to know the general force the flag will exert on the bracket (neglecting flex in the flag, assuming uniform weight throughout) in the scenario of let's say braking at max speed (as this is the most simple situation to calculate this).

Sliding the cart when the blower is off will damage the track. For the elastic collision, both carts must be flagged. The first cart will pass through the first gate before the collision, and the second cart will pass through the second gate after the collision. Arrange the carts so that the metal bumpers will collide, then stage the collision.
Car Physics: From Physclips - UNSW Sites
Cars provide examples for several areas in physics. This page uses the car pictured for a few simple examples to illustrate the chapters Constant acceleration, Weight and contact forces and Energy and power. It also has example problems posed to us about cars. We'll add more later.
Question about the physics of fluttering flags
2008年11月8日 · At the 33 second mark of this video of the Chinese space walk the astronaut moves a flag quickly from right to left. The flag flutters as it moves. The purpose of the YouTube video was to prove the Chinese space walks were faked in a water tank. I want to know whether the flag is behaving the way it would in water, or in a vacuum.
Magnets (repulsive) on each car allow for elastic collisions. Built in spring plungers allow for the investigation of internal forces (explosions). Attach picket fences to the tops of both cars and adjust the heights of the photogates so the 2.5cm portion of the flags pass through them as …

Flag Flapping - FYFD
2017年10月16日 · Today researchers consider the problem in terms of fluid-solid interaction; in other words, to study a fluttering flag, you must consider both the properties of the flag – its flexibility, length, elasticity, and so on – and the properties of the fluid – air speed, viscosity, etc.
