Every Monday evening - between the end of May and the start of September - is Highland Night in Pitlochry! This wonderful weekly event has been happening in Pitlochry for years, and is organised and run by the Vale of Atholl Pipe Band. The Band are central to the evening, and offer locals and visitors a chance to experience the pipes and drums.

Pitlochry Highland Nights are held every Monday night at 7pm, starting with the Vale of Atholl Pipe Band marching from Fishers Hotel at the centre of Pitlochry to the Recreation Ground. We recommend following the pipe band from Fishers Hotel and back at the end of the evening.

A ‘Highland Night’ is an evening of traditional entertainment, full of Scottish music and dance. These outdoor productions have been performed weekly during the summer months since 1965 by local artists for the residents and many visitors of Pitlochry: in the heart of Highland Perthshire, and are a famous part of the history of the area.

The Vale of Atholl Pipe Band Highland Nights will run every Monday from the end of May 2024 to the start of September 2024 from 7.30pm to 9.pm - gates open at 7pm . Artists entertaining include singers, accordionists, Highland and Scottish Country Dancers and Border pipes and Guitar and the Pipe Band.

The Pitlochry and Blair Atholl Pipe Band was formed in November 2004 by a group of local musicians intent on developing the Pipe Band concept to cover all Celtic music. The Band practice in Pitlochry on a Wednesday evening.

Come along to the Pitlochry Recreation Ground to enjoy an evening with the Vale of Atholl Pipe Band, Highland Dancers, Scottish songs and accordion music, all very capably compered by the wonderful Alan Brown. The gates open at 19:00 for both those on foot and for parking cars around the arena, where the show runs from about 19:30 to 21.00.

Pipe Bands - Parade down Atholl Road from 11.30 hrs and Competition commences at 1.00 pm Heavy Events - Tossing the Caber, Throwing the Hammer etc - these Events take place throughout the day
