All the millennials at Best Buy recommending LCD TV's instead of selling them a plasma killed them forever. General masses were like moths to a street light when they saw the overly bright vivid mode LCD's in the store. Sad but it happened.

Jul 25, 2023 · With all 4k content stuck at low 24-30fps, the average LCD hold and sample simply can't compete with the plasma even with the added resolution. The picture falls apart as soon as there is motion negating much of the resolution advantage of the 4,k LCD.

If you have a ton of 480p DVDs and/or watch a lot of live sports at 720p, the Plasma will outperform the OLED. 4k content downsamples much better to 1080p than 480p upsamples to 4k. If you are watching a lot of 4k streaming or gaming on a new console, the OLED wins.

Jul 10, 2021 · Then you are missing out. I upgraded from my Panny plasma 2 years ago and never looked back. True, the networks need to get their act together in terms of 4k broadcasts. But there is a ton of 4k out there streaming (Netflix, Prime, HBO Max, Disney+, etc). No non-4k display can hold a candle to 4k HDR material on a 4k HDR display.
