Apr 2, 2014 · It took about an hour to remove the blue film, and then clean off the adhesive and marks left from the scrapper using wd-40. My skylight had been stored for about 6months before install and then after install it sat outside over the winter and summer so the blue film was impossible to remove without scrapping it off.

Jan 22, 2003 · Im trying to make a shroud out of cheap plexiglass from HomeDepot, the pretty flexible stuff. Was like 3$ for a 1x3' sheet. I got all the panels made and tries to use plastic epoxy to hold it together. The shroud is a pretty tight fit so It had to bend a little to squeeze it in. But that broke one of the glue joints =

Mar 24, 2002 · use clear silicone,the better the grade the longer it lasts.you can get a whole caulking tube of it for about 5 bucks.just get the best quality they have ,like the one that is guarenteed the longest.thats what holds aquariums together and you know they have more preuure on them than any computer case has.it is what i use to put rearview mirrors back on …

Nov 29, 2019 · Look no further! LEXEL. White or crystal clear, been working for me for 12 years on my lexan skylight, on a lexan to lexan lap joint. Also on my Plexi windshield /lexan juncture. An adhesive caulk, emphasis on adhesive, paintable, stays flexible, I love the stuff. Ace Hardware, big gun tubes, and smaller 5 oz. tubes.

Put some on the back of my case and put the plexiglass back there and it sticks good.WOnt see nothing at angles, like with that tape stuff. Its cool my mom uses it and I cant believe im using it...

Nov 20, 2003 · Use corner clamps to hold the joint together under mild pressure. Apply the cement to the inside of the joint, keeping the joint horizontal. The adhesive will flow into the joint by capillary action. The bond will set in about an hour, but allow eight hours or more for the adhesive to fully cure before removing the clamps. (/edit)

Feb 7, 2005 · It allows the plexiglass to move slightly around the screws eliminating stress points. Good advice from Cubunlmtd above. THEN get a shoestring or piece of cotton string a bit smaller than the drilled holes, and drip a LITTLE methylene chloride on it, and polish out the holes with a back-and-forth, round-and-around motion.
