Then plot armor becomes a problem because it undermines the stakes of physical danger, thus rendering it meaningless. However, some story never put on the pretense of physical danger provided stakes in the first place.

In Archer's case though, the plot isn't based on a constant struggle for life, a mortal enemy or any other plot variation that bases its excitement on the uncertain imminent fate of the main characters, so I don't mind his plot armor.
