The karabinek szturmowy wzór 96 "Beryl" (English: assault rifle pattern 1996 "Beryllium", abbreviated kbs wz. 96) is a Polish 5.56mm assault rifle, designed and produced by the Fabryka Broni Radom. The rifle replaced the 5.45×39mm FB Tantal and 7.62×39mm AKM rifles as the standard-issue service rifle of the Polish Armed Forces.

The 7.62 mm Beryl M762 Assault Rifle is an individual automatic firearm designed for shooting 7.62x39 mm ammunition. It can be fired in continuous, single-shot, and three-round burst modes. The rifle is fed with ammunition from a 30-round curved magazine. It is intended for combat engagement at distances up to 600 m.

2018年4月4日 · Beryllium M762 is the equivalent of the modified wz.1 carabiner used by the Polish Army in 2009 96C. The only difference is ammunition – version M762 uses cartridges 7.62 mm x 39, while in Poland 5.56 mm x 45 ammunition is used. In February 2015, the first batch of 1000 Polish Byzantes M762 along with repair kits hit the Nigerian army.
