The genus Prays Hübner contains over 40 described species predominantly from the Old World; there are 23 species from Asia, 8 from Australia, 4 from Europe, 3 from Africa, and the remainder from certain oceanic islands or South America.

Prays tauricornis sp. nov. differs in the male genitalia by having a horn-shaped socius, the sacculus approximately same length as the valva, and the aedeagus about 1.3 times the length of the valva; in the female genitalia by the lamella postvaginalis being two finger-like processes and the semielliptical signum.
