FBI agent Alexander Mahone is tasked with capturing the "Fox River Eight" while the C.Os keep chasing them. The team (Scofield, Burrows, Sucre, Abruzzi and Franklin) steals a truck and Scofield says that they need to go to a warehouse in Oswego. The C.Os track them there, but to the wrong warehouse.

Season 2 consists of a total of 22 episodes and was first aired from August 21, 2006 to April 2, 2007. It directly follows the prison break from the first season. A new major character is introduced, who is FBI Special Agent Alexander Mahone, portrayed by William Fichtner.
