2022年12月18日 · The borders of the Promised Land are described by Moses in Numbers 34 (see also Deuteronomy 1:1-8), and hundreds of years later during the Judean exile in Babylon the prophet Ezekiel essentially repeated this same description as he looked ahead to the restored kingdom of God’s people (Ezekiel 47:13-23).

The map on this page shows how the Promised Land was divided and occupied amongst the twelve tribes of Israel. The tribes are named after the sons of Jacob. The patriarch had his name changed to Israel after wrestling with and prevailing over an angel (see Genesis 32).

It was not until the time of king David that the land promised to Abraham, the first Hebrew (Genesis 13:14-15) was greatly fulfilled, from the River of Egypt in the south to the Euphrates in the east. There were five natural divisions laying parallel to each other running through the entire land from north to south.
