The Primary Science Quality Mark (PSQM) is designed to set every child on a path to a life filled with exciting opportunities, by giving them access to high quality primary science education. The PSQM is enabling a world of possibilities for all children.

The Primary Science Quality Mark (PSQM) is a reflective process that encourages whole school engagement in improving teaching and learning in science. You can sign up to join a local hub and work with a local hub leader to assess the state of science learning in your school and develop ways to expand science uptake.

The PSQM professional development programme will enable you to transform the lives and future trajectory of all children in your school by developing their scientific literacy, equipping them with a deeper understanding of science and its importance in everyday life.

Primary Science Quality Mark (PSQM) is a one-year professional learning programme for primary science subject leaders. It focuses on improving school self-evaluation of science. PSQM seeks to improve science teaching and learning throughout the school by improving the skill, quality and confidence of science subject leadership.

What is PSQM? The PSQM programme provides a framework that enables science subject leaders to develop and strengthen their leadership practice, whilst increasing the profile and quality of science within their school.

PSQM is a CPD programme for subject leadership in science with the aim of whole school improvement. Subject leaders lead the PSQM process in school, but this does not mean that achieving PSQM is only the subject leaders’ responsibility. To ensure sustainable impro vements, it is crucial that everyone shares in the process.
