The Idaho pumice is also 10% heavier, but that could be due to the aggregate size of the Idaho pumice being smaller and more uniform, and therefore there are smaller air pockets.

2015年12月11日 · Wireme. I actually tied 100g pumice in a net.....and dunked it for 5 sec, then weighed it. I then held it under water for 5 minutes and weighed it again. The weights were the same.... I got 100g pine bark soaking overnight now (the bark is the same size as the pumice). Tomorrow i'll saturate the pumice to.

2020年5月4日 · When I lived on the West Coast, I truly used garbage can loads of pumice. However, after years of experimenting, my best results were never with 100% pumice. (1) First, piece size was important. I was careful to sift all my pumice, toss the fines, and keep the small pieces for smaller bonsai or small trees in development.

2024年2月22日 · There are several nurseries and hydroponic stores throughout Chicago that sell pumice and lava. Also the above Hidden Garden in Willowbrook has akadama, pumice, and lava by the ton or in large bags. Also have well over 500+ yamadori for sale collected by Randy Knight.

2020年12月8日 · But that makes sense. Marbles don't hold water. I rescued (really rescued, not like the dead Scots pine) a boxwood with 100% pumice transplant. What I used was sharp (sorta) The local source for it dried up. I guess I'll get some of that roundy hyuga.

2022年1月22日 · The color is very muted and the particle size is nicely aligned with Akadama, Kanuma, and Kiryu particles. A lot of US pumice can be very white and obnoxious at times. The US particle sizes are variable so I wind up with pumice particles too big or too small compared to the akadama particles even when screening.
