The PZL-5 was a Polish two-seat touring and sports aircraft of 1930 constructed and produced by the PZL. The aircraft was designed in 1929 by an amateur designer Władysław Kozłowski. It was a wooden biplane, similar to de Havilland Gipsy Moth.

PZL Mielec (Polskie Zakłady Lotnicze - Polish Aviation Works), formerly WSK-Mielec (Wytwórnia Sprzętu Komunikacyjnego) and WSK "PZL-Mielec" is a Polish aerospace manufacturer based in Mielec. It is the largest aerospace manufacturer in postwar Poland. In 2007, it was acquired by Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation, which retained the brand name.

PZL (Państwowe Zakłady Lotnicze - State Aviation Works) was the largest Polish aerospace manufacturer of the interwar period, and a brand of their aircraft. Based in Warsaw between 1928 and 1939, PZL introduced a variety of well-regarded aircraft, most notably the PZL P.11 fighter, the PZL.23 Karaś light bomber, and the PZL.37 Łoś medium bomber.

2017年12月5日 · PZL WSK Lim-5 P was the first Polish fighter aircraft with a radar. The airplanes were built at the factory „PZL WSK” in Mielec and between the years 1959-1960, 129 aircraft were built in 6 production series. 40 of them were sold to the DGR. The first copy with the serial number 1D-01-01 left the plant on January 18, 1959.

Последний 477-й Lim-5 был официально сдан в июне 1960 г. Самолеты этого типа составляли основу истребительной авиации польских ВВС вплоть до принятия в эксплуатацию МиГ-21. Непосредственным развитием Lirn-5 стал фоторазведчик Lim-5R, оборудованный АФА-39 в специальном отсеке под центральной частью фюзеляжа.
