Might as well use R-73 for short-medium range, and ER is better at long range.

2015年1月22日 · Both. The R-73 is the short range heatseeker with limited off-boresight capability. R-27ET is basically an R-27ER but with a thermal seeker instead of semi-active radar. The 73 is good for close-in dogfights. 27ET is good for medium range shots against the sides and rear of hostile aircraft.
