R2-T0 was an R2-series astromech droid owned by the Toydarian junk dealer Watto, who made it available for sale from his junk shop in the spaceport of Mos Espa on the planet Tatooine. The Toydarian also rented the droid to mechanics around the port, and in 32 BBY, R2-T0 worked with the welding droid WEL-1708 in the streets of Mos Espa.

R2-T0 is a repaint of the über-popular 2005 ROTS R4-G9 (4 of 4) Sneak Preview sculpt. It has everything you would want your astromech droid to have and more. But if you recall, this sculpt has a chronic problem of the third leg "foot" being assembled backwards on so many samples. R2-T0 is one that fell to this unfortunate fate.

R2-T0 was released as a Walmart exclusive figure in a 2-pack together with Watto in 2008. The astromech droid is based on behind the scenes pictures of The Phantom Menace and never appears on screen in the actual movie. The droid has the typical astromech joints (dome, 2 legs, 3 ankles), and when you move the dome, the middle leg moves in and out.

2008年2月17日 · Watto and R2-T0 (5 of 6) includes C-3PX’s head Watto sells used droids and mechanical parts in his shop on Tatooine. One of the droids for sale is R2-T0 who was in the junkyard in the back of Watto’s shop.

This Watto figure was released as a Walmart exclusive figure in a 2-pack together with R2-T0 in 2008. Watto had a big part in The Phantom Menace and was briefly seen in Attack Of The Clones wearing a hat. The figure is a re-release, but repaint of the previously released Watto figure from 1999's Episode 1 toy line.
