The Vympel R-27 (NATO reporting name AA-10 Alamo) is a family of air-to-air missiles developed by the Soviet Union during the late Cold War -era.

The R-27 (Russian: Р-27) was a submarine-launched ballistic missile developed by the Soviet Union and employed by the Soviet Navy from 1968 through 1988. NATO assigned the missile the reporting name SS-N-6 Serb. In the USSR, it was given the GRAU index 4K10.

The R-27, also known as AA-10 Alamo by Western intelligence, is a family of medium range air-to-air missiles originally designed to fit the last generation of Soviet Air Force air defense fighter aircraft such as Mig-23, Mig-29 and Su-27 deployed in the 1980s.

R-27 was similar in construction to previous missiles but had almost double the range. This was the first Soviet submarine ballistic missile not to use fins, which substantially reduced the size of the launch tubes. It was also the first one to have an inertial navigation system, which allowed it to be much more accurate.
