The Tumansky R-29 is a Soviet turbojet aircraft engine that was developed in the early 1970s. [1] It is generally described as being in the "third generation" of Soviet gas turbine engines which are characterized by high thrust-to-weight ratios and the use of turbine air cooling.

R-29涡轮喷射发动机 （俄语： Туманского Р-29）是 苏联 图曼斯基设计局 于 1960年代 后期研制配有 后燃器 之 涡轮喷射发动机， [1] 在苏联发动机技术分代中属于第三世代之范畴， [2] 它装配于 1970年代 服役的苏联战机上，主要为米格23系列机型运用，后由 R-35涡轮喷射发动机 给替换。

r29-300: 图库斯基“联盟”机械制造设计局于二十世纪六十年代，以r-27f2m-300发动机为基础研制出r29-300 ，继承了大量r11f-300、r13-300和r25-300的成功经验。相比较于r-27,重量稍重长度也有所增加。

Introduced in 1972, the R-29 was as refined version of the R-27 designed by Khachaturov of the Tumanskii construction bureau. The R-29 features both afterburning and water injection.
