The R60 and R60/2 are 600 cc boxer-twin that were manufactured from 1956 to 1969 in Munich, Germany, by BMW. Some 20,133 of these 600 cc shaft-drive, opposed twin R60 (1956–1960, 28 hp or 21 kW), R60/2 (1960–1969, 30 hp or 22 kW), and R60US (1968–1969, 30 hp) were built.

2022年1月10日 · This 1969 BMW R60US is a triple numbers-matching example that was acquired by the seller in 2014 and subsequently underwent a refurbishment that was completed in 2016. Work included a repaint of the frame and overhauls of the 594cc opposed twin, four-speed transmission, drive shaft, and front suspension.

The BMW R60US was a short lived series of motorcycles that were introduced in 1968. The R60US was based on the BMW R60/2, but featuring telescopic forks. Powering these shaft driven motorcyles was a 600cc horizontally opposed twin engine that was paired to a four speed transmission. Production of the BMW R60US only lasted until 1969.

For two years only, BMW introduce the US model R50US, R60US, R69US based on the three boxer engine configurations of the time. The telescopic “U.S.” forks were built for the US market and later introduced on the /5s. When this R60US came to us in 2015, the slingers were cleaned to prep the bike for its next owner.
