We are all volunteers who provide basic flying training in the Grob Viking Glider, to young people in the Air Training Corps and Combined Cadet Force. We predominantly serve the cadets of Central & East Yorkshire Wing and Durham & Northumberland Wing but also take cadets from all over the country on our annual courses.
Gliding continues upwards at RAF Little Rissington
On Sunday 1 September 2024, 612 Volunteer Gliding Squadron (VGS) flew their first cadet from RAF Little Rissington. Previously flying from Abingdon Airfield until 2014, 612 VGS is now delivering RAF Air Cadet gliding opportunities, ranging from initial gliding induction flights through to Gliding Scholarships and advanced gliding training.
