Marion "Bill" Williamson is a major antagonist of the 2010 action-adventure video game Red Dead Redemption and a major character in its 2018 prequel Red Dead Redemption II. He is a former soldier for the US army, who after his discharge joins the van der Linde gang, where he is hassled for being an idiot.

In 1911, John Marston confronts Bill Williamson and his gang in an attempt to apprehend and hand over the former to Edgar Ross and Archer Fordham, which results in him being shot and wounded. He is saved when a young woman named Bonnie MacFarlane and a ranch hand named Amos come across him and take him to a doctor.

Considering that the player has the option to spare Javier in his encounter later in RDR, one has to wonder why Bill is required to die.

Bill Williamson is 29 years old in RDR1? This is from the RDR1 Hardcover official guide. Since RDR1 takes place in 1911. That’d make Bill 17 during the events of RDR2? However, it says on the Red Dead wiki that Bill was born in 1866. Sounds like retcon with Prequel.
