2020年9月30日 · Even though Red Dead Redemption 2 came after eight and a half years after the original Red Dead Redemption, in true Rockstar fashion, the two titles are still connected. Both titles are set in the same universe; Red Dead Redemption 2 is the prequel to the first title.

As someone who played RDR2 first, I would recommend playing 1 first... the developers made the games in this reverse order, and they obviously assume that someone playing rdr2 has played rdr1. They fill in gaps for you in rdr2 that you may have wondered about in rdr1.

RDR1 vs RDR2, which game has better story in your opinion? Call me crazy, but I personally think 1 has a better story than 2, even though the latter has way more character developments, lore, and details. IMO dialogues in RDR1 are more meaningful. Other than story, RDR2 wins in everything else of course.

If story doesn't matter and you're looking for a spaghetti western action game, play RDR1 first. If you're looking for an immersive sim with action set pieces instead, play RDR2 first.
