RG-6 vs. RG-11, which to go with? - AVS Forum
2000年2月1日 · Any new opinions on this matter? RG-11 doesn't look too much more expensive. I'm going to be running coax from four satellites, with four cables from two satellite dish (dual LNBFs), and two cable from two satellites.
RG11 or RG6 - AVS Forum
2004年4月20日 · With RG11, you'll gain permanently distorted connectors on your equipment, more difficult to run cable, harder to make connections, more expensive tools and connectors, and maybe a miniscule amount of signal. Use RG6.
RG6 or RG6 Quad for rooftop antenna. - AVS Forum
2009年4月7日 · This kit comes with 75' of RG6 coax cable. However, I'm hearing that RG6 quad shielded cable would provide less signal loss or interference for Over-The-Air (OTA) reception. Is this true? It's roughly 30 ft. from the antenna to the ground. Also, this will be plugged into a 4 way splitter (no preamp or booster). With the kit ($60), I'm stuck ...
RG6 quad, RG7 twin or RG11 twin shield cable for TV?
2024年6月19日 · I didn't know bending a belden RG6 twin shield cable 90 degrees (actually probably more like 100 degrees) was bad until now. I was also kind of rough installing the cable to route from attic to TV. I'm thinking and hoping the cable is the only problem since it took me forever to setup and direct the antennas.
Solid copper vs copper clad center; is it worth the...
2008年6月21日 · Using RG11 (or RG6 for that matter), is there any real advantage paying more for a solid copper center and copper shield vs copper clad steel as far as loss? Also, does that apply for copper braid vs non copper braid as far as shielding ability (same % coverage)? I understand solid copper is...
RG7 or RG11 Questions - AVS Forum
2004年10月14日 · BACK to the original question for sure then, what distances can RG7/RG11 be used without signifigant loss in quality. Looks like we'll have to go some 300-400 odd feet with this run from the box at the street. Installer commented the other day, RG6 would not probably be a good choice for this long of run.
RG11 fittings: crimp or compression? - AVS Forum
2008年6月4日 · Anyway, I got the RG11 for $20 and the crimp connectors for 87 cents for a package of 2. The only crimp tool that was designed for RG11 size cable cost about $80. So I used pliers. I had boots that covered the connectors and that protected them from the weather. However the pliers crimping left a poor mechanical connection that came undone easily.
RG11 Coaxial Cable ?? Also Mounting info, and distance
2007年5月29日 · rg11 75' run rg6 -4.5db rg11 - 3 db difference ~1 db I can see adding rg 11 if the coax run is long well over 150' and the antenna of higher performance . but this scenario is like adding performance tires and rims to a civic and trying to make it perform like an expensive european sports car.
The absolute best RG6 cable? - AVS Forum
2005年4月18日 · It is more flexible and easier to work with than RG6 and is well shielded. While interfering signals on an analog baseband application are perhaps more likely than digital broadband, it's rare that shield penetration of external signals is a problem and even rarer that simply a better shielded cable will solve the problem if it exists.
RG59 vs RG6 for satellite - AVS Forum
2001年1月21日 · Definitely give the existing a shot at it first. There's no sense in doing extra work if it can handle the task. If you were starting from scratch, then I would definitely say to go RG6. I used RG6-Quad for a 100' run from antenna to my Unity Motion and it helped over regualar RG6. YMMV. Good Luck!-----STOP HD-DIVX (DFAST and HDCP)
