2021年8月20日 · Paint order arrived to find that its a strong green grey like AK's colour chip. I have no interest in the era of luftwaffe where 63 was in regular use but wondering what other colours used by other air forces it might be useful for instead.

The introduction of standardized colours in 1936 also saw the introduction of the first camouflage pattern, intended for land based bombers. It was comprised of RLM 61,62 and 63 in a three tone splinter scheme over a RLM 65 underside. The scheme was first used on the new Junkers Ju 86 bombers, and the Dornier Do 17 bombers soon afterwards.

2013年2月18日 · As I stated in my original post I wanted to go with RLM 63 but the model paint manufactures seem confused as to the actual colour, Polyscale's 63 is almost white whereas Xtraclolour's is similar to RLM 02 but possibly a little lighter.

RLM – COLOURS OF THE GERMAN LUFTWAFFE The aircrafts of the German LW (Luftwaffe) in WWII were painted with standardized paints. The colours of this paints were registered as RLM# (Reichs Luftfahrt Ministerium). In certain regulations it was exactly determined where and when the colours had to be used.

Pre-war colors RLM 61/62/63 were no longer to be used for land-based combat aircraft. Bombers: RLM 70/71 and 65 on the underside. Day fighters and destroyers: RLM 74/75 and 76 beneath. Tropical aircraft: RLM 79/78 , a desert tan (mottled with RLM 80, a gray-green as appropriate). RLM 78 used beneath.
