As valid for any ceramic material, ferrite cores are brittle and sensitive to any shock, fast tempera-ture changing or tensile load. Especially high cooling rates under ultrasonic cleaning and high static or cyclic loads can cause cracks or failure of the ferrite cores. For detailed information see data book, chapter “General - Definitions, 8.1”.

RM (rectangular modul) cores were designed for efficient winding and high PCB packing densities. Main application areas for RM cores are: Filter inductors, where is used 10G,16G and 26G material, with center hole and threaded sleeve on request.

The RM Cores has a shape that is suited to high density mounting, it possesses good shielding qualities,being laid out so that the lead groove does not create an obstruction, and enables the creation of small, high performance transformers and coils.

RM cores are designed for two main applications: -Highly stable, extremely low loss filter inductors and other resonance determining inductors (F58, P11). -Low distortion broadband transmission at low signal modulation (F39, F10, F9). RM cores can also be supplied without the centre hole. These have a higher A value and cross sectional area.
